LEAST COMMON MULTIPLE LCM

In arithmetic and number theory, the lowest common multiple or least common multiple (LCM) or smallest common multiple of two rational numbers a and b is the smallest positive rational number that is an integer multiple of both a and b.

The multiples of a number are what you get when you multiply it by other numbers (such as if you multiply it by 1,2,3,4,5, etc). Just like the multiplication table.

When you list the multiples of two (or more) numbers, and find the same value in both lists, then that is a common multiple of those numbers.

Find least common multiple for 4, 6, and 8

Multiples of 4 are: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, ... Multiples of 6 are: 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, ... Multiples of 8 are: 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, .... So, 24 is the least common multiple lcm (I can't find a smaller one !)
