Sample Average Approximation

Introduction to Sample Average Approximation:

In math, the average is defines about average of the group of numbers. The average is the sum of values divided by the number of given data in the given numbers. The sample average is workout by adding up two or more values and divide the total by the number of values.In this article we will solve sample average example problems for sample average approximation. Understanding Determine Sample Size is always challenging for me but thanks to all math help websites to help me out.

Example Problems – Sample Average Approximation:

Let see we will solve problem for sample average approximation.

Example 1:

Compute the average for following numbers.

40.5, 60.3, 52.8, 24.8, 22.4.

The given values are, 40.5, 60.3, 52.8, 24.8, 22.4.

=40.5 + 60.3 + 52.8 + 24.8 + 22.4

= 200.8

Here, we give 5 total values.

=`200.8/5`

=40.16

Answer = 40.16.

Example 2:

In a science subject, the students got the following marks

Compute the average for following numbers.

55,63,88,90,120,135,123,170.

The given values are, 55,63,88,90,120,135,123,170.

= 55 + 63 + 88 + 90 + 120 + 135 + 123 + 170.

= 844.

Here, we give 8 total values.

= `844/8`

=105.5

Answer = 10.5.5.

More Examples for Sample Average Approximation:

No we are going to solve the average example problems for sample average approximation.

The ages of the students are 13, 10,16,20,23.

Compute the average for following numbers.

13, 10,16,20,23.

The given values are, 13, 10,16,20,23.

=13 + 10 + 16 + 20 + 23.

= 82.

Here, we give 5 total values.

= `82/5`

= 16.4

Answer = 16.4

Example 4:

In an English subject, the students got the following marks. Find the average of the marks.

The marks are 88, 96, 60,90,95,82.

Solution:

The given marks are,

88, 96, 60,90,95,82.

Formula for average = `("Sum of the given values")/("Total given values")`

= 88+ 96 +60+90+95+82.

= 511.

Here we give 6 values. So, divide by 6 values.

= `511/6` .

=85.17

Answer: 85.17.

These are examples for sample average approximation.

That’s all about sample average approximation.
