In this article which contains the information about the way of finding the mean for the given fraction in math. The mean is defined as the way of finding the average for the given fraction of numbers. The term fraction is defined as the number that defines the part from the whole. The term fraction is written in the form of a/b where b≠0. The number that is present in top is called as numerator. The number present in the bottom is called denominator. Once the fraction result is produced then we have to find the average for the found fraction number. Then found result is called as mean. Step to be followed for finding the mean of math fraction:


Step 1: The given number in fraction is to be added first.
Step 2: L.c.m is to be found for the given fraction number.
Step 3: Divide the found result by total number of given fraction.
Formula for finding the mean of math fraction:

`"Mean"= "Found result"/ "Total number of fraction"`

Examples based on finding the mean of math fraction:


Example 1:

Solve the problem by finding the mean for the given fraction 1/2, 2/5, 1/5?

Solution:

Given: Fraction numbers are `1/2` , `2/5` , `1/5` .

Have to find the mean for the given numbers.

Step 1: As the first step we have to add the given fraction of numbers.

`1/2, 2/5, 1/5`

`= 1/2+2/5+1/5`

Step 2: We have to find the `L.c.m` for the given fraction.

`=1/2+2/5+1/5`

`=(5+4+2)/10` (where 10 is taken as L.c.m)

`=11/10`

Step 3: Now we have to divide the found result by total number of given fraction. By using the formula

`"Total number of fraction is" =3`

`"Mean"= "Found result"/ "Total number of fraction"`

`= (11/10)/3`

`= (11*3)/10`

`= 33/10`

Answer: `33/10` .

Example 2:

Solve the problem by finding the mean for the given fraction 1/6, 4/3?

Solution:

Given: Fraction numbers are `1/6, 4/3` .

Have to find the mean for the given numbers.

Step 1: As the first step we have to add the given fraction of numbers.

`1/6, 4/3.`

`= 1/6+4/3`

Step 2: We have to find the `L.c.m` for the given fraction.

`=1/6+4/3`

`=(1+8)/6` (where 6 is taken as L.c.m)

`=9/6` (where both are multiples of 3)

`=3/2`

Step 3: Now we have to divide the found result by total number of given fraction. By using the formula

`"Total number of fraction is" =2`

`"Mean"= "Found result"/ "Total number of fraction"`

`= (3/2)/2`

`= 3*2/2`

`= 6/2` (where both are multiples of 2)

`=3`

Answer: `3` .
